A PARTNERSHIP OF THREE ORGANIZATIONS
ICGCPI plus U.S BOARD OF DIRECTORS plus RELIANT MISSION
.
When a donation is given
- When you make a donation to help church members build a home business, the donation first goes to Reliant Mission (www.reliant.org) into a fund titled the “Microloan Ministry.”
- Money is kept in this fund until the U.S. Board of Directors requests it to be sent to the Philippine bank account established specifically for the microloan ministry. (Detailed info is below, under the heading of “U.S. Board of Directors.”)
- The U.S. Board of Directors communicates with the Philippine Board of Directors to determine the amount of grant money that is needed for new loans. This is based on the number of church members of the ICGCPI churches who have been approved for loans (see “ICGCPI” below). When the U.S. Board determines that grant money is needed to service new loans, a member of the U.S. Board of Directors requests Reliant to send a grant to the ICGCPI microloan bank account.
- The Philippine Loan Officer and the Philippine Treasurer then withdraw money from the bank account to make loans to the church members whose business plans have been approved by the ICGCPI board.
- The church members pay back the loans by making weekly payments (including a flat 10% interest, which helps pay the Loan Officer and Treasurer). This money is returned to the Philippine microlan bank account and kept there – available for future loans.
- Your donation is continually “recycled” into new loans to help more church members with their home businesses!
ICGCPI
The fourteen churches in the organization of The Independent Churches of the Great Commission in the Philippines, Inc. (ICGCPI) have chosen a board of six pastors. These six pastors make decisions about how the microloan program will be managed. They have chosen a Loan Officer (Pastor Ed) who is the primary manager of the program, and also a Treasurer, (Pastor Nato). Applications for a loan for a home business are submitted to a pastor or to Pastor Ed (the Loan Officer). These applications are then presented to the ICGCPI board for approval. Loans are only made to those church members who have been approved unanimously by the ICGCPI board.
U.S. Board of Directors
The four-member U.S. Board of Directors consists of three business men from Lee’s Summit Community Church, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Mike Bergen, Reliant staff, as chair of the board.
Reliant Mission, Inc.
Reliant Mission, Inc. www.reliant.org mobilizes missionaries to work in local churches and ministries for the purpose of evangelism, discipleship and church planting. They train, employ and serve missionaries in 19 different countries. They also provide a variety of services for churches and ministries.
